About

Dusty Road Blooms is a studio based florist in Coffs Harbour. Enthusiastic about providing unique, high quality flowers.

Hello, welcome! I’m Zoe, the face behind Dusty Road Blooms. I am originally from the Coffs area, after finishing school I moved to QLD, where I completed a Certificate III in Floristry. While studying, I started working in flower wholesale, then moved on to retail floristry, workshops and more. Now having around 5 years industry experience, I am happily back in Coffs Harbour running my own business, and hope to supply you with some beautiful flowers for your next special occasion. As the creator of Dusty Road Blooms, a very common question I get asked is how I came up with my business name… I figured this “About” page was the perfect place to explain. Honestly I tried to come up with names for so long and it was so easy for them to be a generic florist name, but I wanted to be unique and representative of where my passion began. After lots of brainstorming, eventually Dusty Road Blooms popped into my head, and was perfect…My three older siblings and I grew up on our family cattle farm, approximately 45 minutes from Coffs Harbour. The frequent trip up the mountain to get there was dusty, dirt roads on and off. Here in my Mum’s garden, she would always have curiously beautiful plants growing, from bulbs of daffodils, tulips, bluebells, to large Camellia and Magnolia trees, just to name a few favourites. Sometimes disaster would strike and the cow’s would get into the wrong paddock and manage to snack on the flowers and plants… Haha but lets not go there! We would often pick hot pink Camellia’s or lovely yellow Daffodil’s on our way into town, then wrap them in foil with a little bit of water so they were ready for the journey either to a friend’s place, Nanna’s house or the cemetery. It probably doesn’t sound like much, but I truly believe that this strong early influence of embracing the beauties of nature and seeing people’s incredible reactions to receiving a gift of flowers, is the foundation behind Dusty Road Blooms and the reason I followed this career path.  Thank you for reading!!
